Saxbury has learned that the pioneers of ‘lean luxury’ accommodation Ruby Hotels will open a second property in Cologne, in this new hotel they’ll debut their ‘‘Triple concept’, with around 165 hotel rooms, resident rooms and co-working spaces.
For longer stays, the new Ruby Hotel 'RESIDENT Rooms' will offer more room space, an additional wardrobe and a refrigerator. Instead of the kitchenette, which is typical in many apart-hotels, RESIDENT Rooms have access to a fully equipped co-cooking and co-dining area. On each floor there will be galley kitchen providing free hot drinks, a vending machine with snacks and an ironing station to include washer and dryer.
Ruby calls this offering 'Ruby Places', and for the first time transfers the co-living approach of the sharing economy to the extended-stay segment.
The combination of hotel, extended-stay rooms and co-working offers synergies in operation, as well as distribution, cleaning, technical support and staffing. The fact that co-working and extended-stay guests share the co-cooking and co-dining area also increases the attractiveness of the offer for both user groups.
