The Saxbury team was invited to Switzerland to meet James Fry, Co-Founder of Base Aparthotels last week. Base is an exciting new breed of apart-hotels looking to grow across Europe with a primary focus on the UK.
The Base concept consists of unique, design-led suites, powered with the latest technology such as touch-screen kiosks and Samsung Internet HD TVs, and sustainable features such as solar panels and automatic sun blinds. A Green approach has also been employed with chemical free cleaning products and zero use of plastic disposables. An overall future-inspired and highly impressive product. We were also impressed to hear that James has value-engineered the design, enabling the Base look and feel to be easily recreated to suit the price point of the targeted cities.
Having operated and stabilised two successful corporate apart-hotels in Nyon and Vevey, James is now at a crucial stage of his business development plan. Like many other apart-hotel brands, the idea is to bring the concept to the UK and expand to key business cities, which we’re very excited to see come to fruition.
These new apart-hotel trends are transforming the guest experience and as a result, we’re seeing an ever-increasing demand for C1 use class buildings in key UK cities. According to a recent report by The Apartment Service, 65% of operators are planning new properties in local markets, many of which are funded by Private Equity and are eager to grow.
Saxbury therefore encourages landlords and developers who are seeking representation, to contact us for an appraisal and an introduction to the potential serviced apartment sector.
